I went to an evening service during the Advent season at another church and became aware of the delightful frankness of children.

At the beginning, I think it was, the narrator said "I am the light of the world" which was the cue for the acolyte to come in and light one candle. The acolyte did not appear.

The narrator repeated the cue, "I am the light of the world." Still no acolyte.

He said a third time "I am the light of the world," and a side door to the sanctuary opened and light from the room streamed in and the acolyte was heard to say loud and clear and in despair, "But I can't light the candle. The cat has peed on the matches."
