Uncle Riley's Prayers

I have a memory from my early days of a man called Uncle Riley Arms. Uncle Riley came to church in the cleanest pair of overalls and blue work shirt that I have ever seen. They were starched and ironed. If a fly had landed on Uncle Riley it would have fallen and broken its neck.
I still remember Uncle Riley and his prayers. He just simply talked to the Lord, He would stand up in the altar area and his constant prayer was, "Lord you have said you would help us do these things. And we've got this problem now and we are waiting for you to help us. We are going to do our part but we depend on you to do your part. So come on now and let's get this done because you know in a week or two we'll have another problem."
I always felt that Uncle Riley was on first name acquaintance with the Lord. And I suspected that he might be some kind of Irish leprechaun. I do remember Uncle Riley.
